I Can Tell That We Are Going To Be Friends

Time Flies

September 2006

September 2008

Yeah, it is 2:41 in the morning and I have been up for around 2 hours. Yikes!! Our little Breanna Claire is progressing, but still not quite there on staying in her bed a full night. Anyway, I got to thinking about a few things and started searching around on the internet. Eventually I came to one of my favorite sites- Reviving Motherhood. One of my good friends, Stephanie, started this. I was inspired by her latest entry... Loving Tenderness. It talks about taking the whole month of October and intensely loving on your children. She suggests letting go of some of the normal things we get caught up in (routine, cleaning, computer, etc) and keeping your kids by your side and actively playing with them. Of course they need their "make their own fun" time, but you know what I mean. Hard to admit, but I get so into other things that my kids are hanging onto my feet desperately wanting me to play and I keep saying over and over "After I do this, I will..."

You know, having children and getting to stay home with them (or spend quality time with them) is wonderful and the time will fly by before you know it. I have to say that God has been teaching me in this area for quite a while. My mind set and my character is changing and I am loving it! True... routine and monotony in being an at home mom can be hard at times. You feel like you are just trying to make it through the day. But, I know now it doesn't have to be that way. God wants me to choose JOY!! So some fun and tender loving will be a great thing for us. I listed a lot of fun stuff below. How nerdy is that? I will let you know how it goes soon.

FUN STUFF TO DO
watch movie together
build forts
read aloud together
make homemade musical instruments and play them while listening to good music
charades (yeah, what am I thinking?)
games
puzzles
crafts
listen to books on tape- while looking at book it goes with
look up old children's radio shows online and listen while doing something else (kickin' it old school, REALLY old school!)
walk
bike ride
have friends over
picnic- even in back yard
fishing
outdoor games
sidewalk chalk
bubbles
dress up
do a scavenger hunt with their lunch as the end prize
water balloons (on a neighbors door, no... just kidding)
play chase/hide and seek in the house

I still cannot believe how much Bradley looks like you. I love seeing pictures of Bradley and Breanna. I wish we lived closer so our kids could play.
