I Can Tell That We Are Going To Be Friends

Thibodaux Christmas Parade 2008

A friend of mine asked me to do the backdrops for a float in a Christmas Parade this year. Of course, I said "sure" without thinking about how hectic this time of year can be without adding painting on top of it? But it turned out to be lots of fun for me and the kids.

The theme was "Roundin' Up the Christmas Spirit." We all got dressed up like cowboys/cowgirls and the kids road their rocking horses. The best part for me was watching Bradley and Breanna throw their candy. Bradley was pretty over-zealous- kind of hurling it at people's heads without realizing. Too funny. Breanna was telling everyone... "Merry Chris-th-mas." They loved it!!!

Bradley and Breanna leave for Gatlinburg

This was the first time that Bradley and Breanna have ever gone out of town with out us. They left with Mama Jo and Papa Jo the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Brent left too, that day. I was all alone until Tuesday when Brent came back from his youth event in Lake Charles. I wasn't sure what I would do with myself. I haven't been alone in over 4 years. Crazy, huh? But, I soon really enjoyed every moment. Such a fantastic and unexpected gift for the Lord. Got all my Christmas shopping done and actually got to take my time, ALL THE TIME I WANTED!!!

On Tuesday, when Brent returned, we headed on up to Gatlinburg and met everyone there. Brent's sister and family were there too. We had a great time and the kids were wild and crazy to see their cousins. Thanksgiving in the mountains is beautiful. We even got to see some snow.

Mama Jo and Papa Jo are Coming

This is a picture of Bradley and Breanna riding their bikes just before Mama Jo and Papa Jo come to see us. It was windy and FREEZING!! Bradley kept pretending like he was falling. So we just decided to take a picture moment!! So cute!

Go Hornets!

Brent was so excited about this. Someone had given our pastor, Steve, some tickets to a Hornets game for November 14. But because of a prior commitment he was unable to go. He then passed the tickets on to Brent and Bradley. They also took Steve's son, Zac, and his friend Levi. The most incredible part though... these were box seats!!! Unlimited free food and drinks... they were set up. Bradley had a great time with Daddy-o and the guys!

Happy Fall Festival

Our church had a trunk or treat this year. Lots of fun. Bradley was Luke Skywalker. Breanna was a pumpkin, and Brent and I were???? Can you guess??

BLACK-EYED PEAS!!!!!

Audobon Zoo "Uh, Oh!"

Just a day before Halloween, we all went to the zoo with our good friends, the Duplechins. We had such a good time going everywhere- even discovered a section of the zoo we had never been too... the petting zoo! Bradley kept saying, loudly I might add, that the goats and sheep were POOPING BEANS. Out of the mouths of babes.

The pictures that you see below are precious because they will be the last time you will see pictures of Breanna with clear skin between the eyes. Just a few minutes later she will fall 4 feet from some playground equipment in the zoo park! Uh, Oh!! We had to rush her over to Children's Hospital (only 2 blocks away) and get x-rays and stitches. Poor baby! Getting papoosed was the worst part.
