I Can Tell That We Are Going To Be Friends

Homemade popsicles

August 5, 2008
2 days after Bradley's party we decided to use his Popsicle maker. They were delicious and we had a lot of fun, even though it was burning up, HOT, Louisiana weather.

Johns' Family Renunion
Graceville, FL
We had lots of fun at Mama Jo's and Papa Jo's for this family reunion. We have never been to one before. The last time they had a Johns' family reunion was 18 years ago. We got to see our family from Chicago and that was exciting. Bradley and Breanna definitely love their cousin Spencer. Somehow we ended up coming home with his swim trunks, which we hope to mail them back soon. And as you can see Brent got a lovely pic of the century old graveyard on the farm?? Where did this come from and how does it fit in my nice blog?

Bradley's 4th Birthday

Family Birthday Party (July 26, 2008)

The grandparents wanted come to our house for a little celebration of Bradley's 4th birthday. The day began with a trip to Blue Bayou Water Park in Baton Rouge. Soooo much fun!! And the rest of the pictures speak for themselves.

The Real Day!! (August 3, 2008)

For Bradley's real birthday we went with some friends to Osaka, a Mongolian barbecue. Bradley also brought his little friend Silas with him. It was so much fun to see Bradley and his friends watch the chef set fire to the food. With all the excitement he forgot about saying "no" to the zucchini. He ate it and loved it. Ha! Ha!

Just for Daddy

Thought you might like this while you're at camp Daddy, love Bradley and Breanna

Last day of swimming lessons

Today was our last day of swimming lessons with Mrs. Olga. She is such a good teacher. This was Bradley's 3rd year, but Breanna's 1st. Earlier this year Brent decided that he would like to be with Breanna for the mom and tot class. Ha! Ha! He was the only dad there for a little while and then another father joined. Mrs. Olga said that she thought that Bradley coming with me and Breanna going with Brent during the same lessons would be a great idea.

Bradley swam like a fish this summer. He started jumping in and kicking off the bottom and he would go under water and find things and come up to the surface and float. So proud of him.

Breanna was a little dare devil and a quick learner. She started doggy paddling under the water to Brent!!! A little scary, but Mrs. Olga said this was huge for a one year old. Yeah, Breanna!!

Grandmama's 90th Birthday- or is it 91st???

Well, we all think that Grandmama turned 90 a year ago. But, we will follow her lead and celebrate it today. We love that we are able to enjoy it with her in person this year. This last Sunday my dad called and said that they would like to come see us this week. Yippee!!! It was hard to come up with something special to get her. So we decided on a basket with some different gardening things inside... garden magazines, flower seed packets, citronella candles, gardening gloves, flower pot, a dragon fly flower pal and a Snickers (of course)!!!!! Happy Birthday Grandmama!!!!!!!

Father's Day

Father's Day today was soooo good. Brent started the day by preaching 3 services. Whooohh!! That was a load off. He later told us that he was so nervous. Couldn't tell. He seems so calm. Afterwards, Bradley, Breanna and I swam to Walmart. Yeah, that's what I said. It was pouring, but it was a "have to." We decided to make Daddy a picnic lunch in the house. We got deli meat, sour dough bread, cheese, lettuce, tomato, watermelon, chips, cookies, and most importantly to Brad... Root Beer!!! We ate so good. And to top it off, tonight, we are having youth at our house??? What was Brent thinking?? It was an accident, but these youth are awesome. He really loves these kids. Thanks God for another Father's Day with the best daddy in the world!!!!!!

Brad and Dad reading the paper

Yeah, does this look like a true Johns picture or what? Bradley absolutely LOVES reading the paper with Brent. We were looking for garage sales in the area. Brad talks about everything that he sees and Brent makes such a big deal about it. He is a really good daddy!!

So, tomorrow we will go garage saling (is that a term??) for some Brad toys. Bradley has been doing some chores and saving his money so he can get some bigger boy things. You see, every time we go to the store, the things he wants cost more than what he has. We thought garage sales might help him out. Wish us luck!! We love the hunt!!
